Victorian Sterling/14kt Diamond Crescent Moon Necklace 4.00ctw
A stunning diamond crescent necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of 14kt rose gold topped in sterling, and forms the shape of a sparkling crescent moon. Lining the surface of the crescent are 17 old Mine Cut diamonds, which rest within a shared prong setting. The stones graduate in size, with the larger diamonds at the center and the smallest stones at the tips. Collectively, the overall carat weight for the piece is approximately 4.00ctw. The sparkling white stones are set in sterling silver, while an ornate scalloped wirework design in rose gold can be seen from the sides. The crescent, which was originally worn as a pin, has been converted to a pendant and now hangs from a modern 14kt yellow gold chain, which fastens in the back. A truly gorgeous piece, this celestial necklace would make a breathtaking addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 16" in length. The crescent measures a little less than 1 1/4" wide, is 1 1/4" tall, and 3/8" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold, and all of the diamonds are intact. The chain clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
