ANTONIO PINEDA Vintage Sterling Silver Ring
Considered one of the finest Mexican silver craftsmen from the twentieth century, Antonio Pineda began his art at a young age. He studied painting and sculpture as a youth and at age 14 he was apprenticed to Taller de Las Delicias of William Spratling to learn the silversmith craft. Antonio founded his own workshop in 1941 and his talent flourished.
This ring is a great example of Antonio Pineda's talent. An innovative and creative design, the sterling silver ring is a vintage piece from approximately circa1960. A fabulous sterling silver piece, the wave-like design sits high above the finger but wears very comfortably. On the inside of the ring are several markings: "ANTONIO", "TAXCO", "MADE IN MEXICO", 2 separate "P" stamps, the number "451" and one of his signature markings, a stamp of a bird. It is funky and fun ring with a bold Antonio Pineda look!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 9.25 but could easily be resized. When worn, the ring sits 1/2" atop the finger and is approximately 1" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is good. There are some surface scratches on the silver which could be polished out if desired, however, from a collectors stand point, we decided not to alter it from its original state.
