Walter Lampl was an ambitious New York City jeweler whose rags-to-riches story marked the beginnings of a successful career. At the age of 26, he opened a wholesale jewelry business in 1921, and eventually commissioned several female designers whose work he oversaw and and approved from page to product. His quality jewelry included colorful gemstone designs, unique charms, and popular pins. Multiple designs originated as gifts for his beloved wife Sylvia (whom he called "Toots"), later evolving into designs available to the rest of his clientele. His enthusiasm, charismatic personality, and humorous motto "Creators of the Unusual, As Usual" made him a much beloved man whose legacy extended far beyond the end of his life. Authentic vintage Walter Lampl pieces are still fashionable today and have become quite collectible!

This fantastic turquoise ring from the late Art Deco (ca1930s) era is a signed piece by maker Walter Lampl! This beautiful piece is made of vibrant 10kt yellow gold and features an artistic turquoise plaque that rests in the center of a decorative mounting. The turquoise plaque has vibrant, blue color and a lovely carved blooming lotus flower design which has a Chinese-inspired aesthetic. The turquoise stone is prong-set within the gold setting and the shank is stamped "10K" along with the maker's initials "WL". Completing the design is a feminine carved floral design that adorns the shoulders of the ring. A very special Art Deco era piece, it looks fabulous when worn and would make a striking addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring has a small finger size of 7 but could be easily resized if desired.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold setting or to the carved turquoise plaque.
