Art Deco 14kt Faceted Garnet Festoon Necklace
A beautiful garnet necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) period! This lovely, feminine piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and is comprised of gorgeous faceted garnet stones that hang in a festoon style necklace. The garnets graduate in size and are smaller on the ends, while the largest stones rest in the middle. Each link is formed by three garnet stones, which are separated by yellow gold chain and dangle in a vertical row. The garnets display a rich, luscious color which looks wonderful against the vibrant yellow gold setting. At the back of the necklace is a strand of yellow gold chain that fastens at a spring ring clasp in the back. The necklace drapes beautifully along the neckline and has a very elegant look when worn. A stunning and feminine piece, it would be perfect for special occasions!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 17” long. The festoon links hang at varying lengths, with the longest strand in the center measuring 1 1/4" long, and the shortest measuring 7/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or garnet stones. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
