Art Deco Platinum Diamond + Onyx Pendant Necklace 15.75"
A stunning diamond and onyx pendant necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful platinum piece has a classic Deco aesthetic, and is comprised of a gorgeous pendant hanging from a fine chain. Dangling at the base of the elongated pendant, is a round onyx plaque, appearing to "float" within a diamond encrusted loop. The smoothly polished, rich black onyx features a single bezel set diamond at the center while additional diamonds line a triangular-shaped topper which is attached to a diamond encrusted elongated bail. Fine milgrained detail surrounds all of the old Rose Cut stones, which sparkle beautifully with every turn. Finishing the design are fine airline cutouts along the edge of the entire pendant, and gorgeous wirework embellishes the back of the onyx setting. Resting at the top is a fluted bail which is attached to a simple chain that fastens in the back with a spring ring clasp. When worn, the pendant hangs beautifully along the neckline, and makes a lovely statement piece. Perfect for everyday wear or for special occasions, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 15.75" long. The pendant hangs about 1 5/8" long (including the bail), and measures 3/4" wide and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. The onyx plaque and diamonds are all intact and securely set. The clasp is secure and in good working order.
