Art Deco Platinum Diamond + Ruby Dog on Leash in House Pin
A stunning and unusual diamond and ruby dog pin from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This wonderful piece is crafted in platinum and depicts an endearing dog gazing out of a diamond encrusted dog house while its diamond and ruby leash hangs freely below. Pavé set Transitional Cut diamonds adorn the entire surface of the dog and house, sparkling beautifully in the light with every turn. Raspberry red calibrated rubies line the collar and "roof" of the house, adding a wonderful pop of color to the design. Hanging from the dog's neck, is a long, looped leash decorated with a fabulous diamond and ruby pattern that swings lightly with any movement. Black enameling acts as the dog's nose while delicate cutouts highlight its eye and the space surrounding its body. Finishing the design are fine milgrained details which can found throughout the piece, adding a lovely touch. Resting on the back of the piece is a pin and clasp with a safety mechanism for extra security. This beautiful pin is perfect for any dog lover and would look wonderful worn on a favorite garment!
Measurements: The pin measures approximately 2 1/8" long (including the leash), measures about 7/8" wide, and is 1/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. All of the diamonds and rubies are intact and securely set. The pin and clasp are secure and in good working order.
