Art Deco Platinum Sapphire + Diamond Filigree Ring 0.65ct center
A stunning and unique sapphire and diamond ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Crafted in platinum, the ornately shaped centerpiece features a gorgeous sapphire at the center of a double diamond border. The octagonal shaped stone weighs approximately 0.65ct and exhibits a beautiful rich blue hue. The diamond lined octagonal shaped border is surrounded by an outer diamond encrusted frame, with each corner flaring outward into a fabulous point. Resting below each flared corner is a bezel set diamond that is surrounded by an airline cutout, creating the illusion that the 4 stones "float" within the setting. The ring is lined with a combination of Single and Full Cut diamonds that collectively weigh approximately 0.50ctw, sparkling brilliantly with every turn. A single accent diamond adorns each side, "floating" within each split shank shoulder, and fine milgrain work embellishes the entire piece. Finishing the design is a swirled filigree wirework motif that decorates the sides of the gallery, and a smoothly polished band wraps around the back. The sapphire and diamonds within the ornately shaped setting is simply stunning and a perfect representation of the Art Deco era! A wonderful statement ring, this breathtaking piece would look perfect worn on special occasions, or could make a unique gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size scant 6.5 but could easily be resized, if desired. The centerpiece measures approximately 5/8" tall and 1/2" wide, and rests about 1/8" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 1mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. The sapphire and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set.
