Art Deco Rolled Gold Red Paste Flexible Wrap-Around Coiled Snake Bracelet
A very stylish snake bracelet from the late Art Deco (ca1930s) era! Crafted in rolled gold, this stylish German-made piece has a vibrant eye-catching appearance and alluring serpentine design. A pattern of grooves gives the piece a textured surface, mimicking the appearance of "scales" on the snakes' tail and body. Vibrant red French paste stones represent the eyes, and lightly etched markings decorate the 3-dimensional head and face. When worn, the flexible bracelet coils several times around the wrist for a wide, dramatic look, resting snugly and securely, eliminating the need for a clasp. Stamped underneath the snake head is "ROLLED GOLD along with the half visible German maker's mark "ST". A fabulous and unique accessory, it is perfect for any snake lover and would make a striking everyday piece for the fashion-forward woman!
Measurement: When left tightly coiled, the bracelet's inner diameter (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 1 7/8". When stretched, the bracelet expands to approximately 2" in diameter. The surface of the coiled body measures approximately 1 1/8" wide. Its measurements would most comfortably fit a small-sized wrist. It could accommodate a medium-sized wrist with an extra snug fit.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is good. There is some light surface wear to the rolled gold setting, which is normal for an antique piece. The flexible design is very taught and secure and still retains its shape. Both red paste eyes are intact, and the engraved detail is in good condition.
