A beautiful carved carnelian and rock quartz crystal necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! The necklace is comprised of elongated sterling silver chain links with red enamel detail and graduating carved and faceted carnelian beads, which are coupled with faceted rock crystal spacers. At the center of the necklace is a floral carved carnelian donut pendant with the sterling and enameled chain links wrapped around the pendant at the 10 and 2 o'clock hour. The carnelian is rich and warm in color, exhibiting beautiful shades of sunset orange and deep cherry. The faceted rock quartz crystal spacers are lovely and add a delicate sparkle! The necklace comes together at a sterling spring ring clasp in the back (stamped "STERLING"). When worn, the necklace drapes beautifully at the neckline. It would make a wonderful everyday accessory!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 15.5" long. The donut pendant, the largest piece of carnelian, measures just over 1". The smallest beads at the ends measure 3/8" in diameter. Each faceted rock quartz crystal spacers measure between 4mm - 5mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the beads, spacers, or carnelian donut which are all intact and securely set. The sterling spring ring clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
