Art Deco Sterling Carved Rock Quartz Crystal + Natural Pearl Brooch Clip
An attractive and very unique brooch clip from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Hand carved from a single piece of rock quartz crystal, this bold piece carries a classic Art Deco look, and attaches to a sterling silver clip. The 3-dimensional design is rectangular in shape with rounded, stacked edges and fabulous ridged grooves at the top. Riveted through the center is a single cultured pearl, which exhibits a creamy white color and wonderful luster. The shield-shaped clip on the back reveals two pointed "teeth" and a stamped hallmark when opened. The teeth help secure the clip to a favorite garment, like fur, a blazer, collar, or jacket. The transparent nature of the crystal allows the garment color to show through the clip, making this piece extremely versatile! A fabulous piece with a classic Art Deco appeal, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The clip measures 1 1/8" tall, 7/8" wide and slightly more than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the clip is great. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to sterling silver setting and the pearl is intact and securely set. The clip clamps securely and is in good working condition. There are a few very tiny chips to the grooved surface of the crystal, however given their location and size, they are not noticeable when worn and do not detract from the overall beauty of the piece.
