A beautiful pendant necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, a substantial Rock Quartz Crystal pendant is carved into the image of a small bird sitting atop kumquat fruit. The pendant has delicate leafy details and is secured by two sterling silver chains. A carved sphere on the chain's lavalier drop displays three carved shòu characters, meaning "longevity". The chain secures with a spring-ring marked "STERLING", but it is long enough to be worn overhead. This necklace would be a lovely addition to any antique Chinese jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 30" in length with a 2" lavalier drop. The sphere measures 1/2" in diameter. The pendant measures 2" tall, 1 1/2" wide, and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The necklace is overall in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The rock quartz crystal is free of chips and scratches and is securely set. The chain has a natural patina, typical of antique silver. The spring ring is secure and in good working condition.
