Art Deco Sterling Enamel + Marcasite Bow Locket and Lavalier Necklace
A gorgeous locket necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this necklace displays stunning red and black enamel. A sterling silver bow tops the oval-shaped locket, decorated with marcasites. The locket opens to reveal two photograph compartments protected by plastic inserts. There is an oval-shaped bail atop the locket, marked "GERMANY" and "STERLING". A spring ring at the bottom of the matching chain's lavalier design secures the chain to the locket. A pattern of black-enameled ovals and red enameled, elongated ellipses decorates the chain securing with a matching spring ring. The securing jump ring is marked "GERMANY" and "STERLING". This locket and lavalier necklace set would be an incredible addition to any Art Deco collection!
Measurements: The necklace length measures approximately 20" and its lavalier drop measures 2". The locket itself measures 1 1/2" excluding the bail and 1 1/8" wide.
Condition: The necklace is overall in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The enamel is in excellent condition, free of chips and scratches. The locket's hinges and latch are in good working condition. Both of the spring rings are in secure, good working condition.
