Art Deco Sterling Onyx, Chalcedony + Rock Quartz Crystal Teardrop Earrings
A gorgeous and unusual pair of gemstone earrings from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Crafted in sterling silver, these fabulous earrings display a lovely dangling teardrop design. Freely hanging at the base is an elongated, smoothly polished onyx link that is capped at the bottom with a stunning chalcedony cabochon. The onyx and chalcedony are separated by a rock quartz crystal disc which is faceted, allowing the the light to beautifully reflect with every turn. The teardrop link swings from a bezel set chalcedony topper attached to a simple earring wire at the top, and the earrings dangle with lovely movement. The combination of the periwinkle blue chalcedony paired with the rich onyx is absolutely stunning and the unique combination looks wonderful on. They would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long (including the wires at the top) and measures slightly more than 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver settings or to any stones which are free of chips or scratches. The earring wires are secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina to some of the silver surface, which is common given the age of the piece and adds to its the beauty and character.
