Art Nouveau 14kt Madeira Citrine + Pearl Filigree Lavalier Necklace 15"
A gorgeous lavalier necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1890) era! This elegant piece is crafted in vibrant 14kt yellow gold, and has a lovely, curvilinear appearance. Resting at the center of the pendant is a faceted madeira citrine, which displays a rich, deep orange color and delivers a soft sparkle as it catches the light. Surrounding the citrine is an elaborate filigree border, complete with lacy open wirework, flowing scrolls and swirls, engraved texture, and delicate beadwork accents.
The elongated pendant hangs directly below a decorative filigree link, which boasts similar wirework and beadwork details. Six natural white pearls grace the front of the necklace, displaying a rich, shimmery luster that adds softness to the beautiful design. Attached to either side of the centerpiece is a delicate gold chain, which is fastens in the back with a spring ring clasp. The back of the pendant is stamped with a "14K" gold purity mark beside a small horseshoe maker's mark. When worn, the necklace hangs beautifully at the neckline, where the pendant is displayed prominently. Measurements: The necklace measures 15" in total length. The decorative pendant and centerpiece hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, 1" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or filigree wirework and beadwork details. The citrine and pearls are all intact and securely set. The chain is securely attached, and the spring ring clasp is in good working condition.
