Art Nouveau 14kt Moonstone Cabochon Ring
A lovely moonstone ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This unique piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and features an oval-shaped moonstone cabochon at the center of a gorgeous setting. The prong set moonstone rests in an east-west fashion, and displays an alluring translucent quality, exhibiting a pale blue color and a faint iridescent flash. The setting is incredibly unique, where each prong that surrounds the stone appears to transform into flowing raised lines that graduate slightly towards the back, wrapping around the finger to create the band. The smoothly polished raised lines form grooves that provide a wonderful textural appeal to the design. A wonderful reflection of the Art Nouveau era aesthetic, this ring would be perfect for everyday wear and would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8 but could be re-sized. The centerpiece measures approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 1.5mm at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the moonstone, which is intact and securely set.
