A dramatic and breathtaking opal link necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era! This stunning piece is crafted in 15kt yellow gold and comprised of 36 vibrant opal stones resting in a row to form a straight but flexible design that drapes beautifully along the neckline. The oval-shaped stones are of exceptional quality, and graduate slightly in size with the largest stones resting towards the center. Each open back stone rests in a classic bezel setting and exhibits a gorgeous array of color throughout, including hues of blues, greens, reds and violets, boldly flashing in the light with every movement. A final link seamlessly incorporated into the design also acts as the clasp, securely fastening the necklace. The clasp tongue is stamped with a "15ct" gold purity mark and the underside has a personalized inscription which reads "M.C.S FROM T.W.S OCT. 14th 1878-1929". The necklace comes in its original velvet lined box. The combination of the iridescent opal stones along with the fine yellow gold setting creates a simply breathtaking design, perfect for special occasions!

Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16" long. The largest opal link measures approximately 3/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and 3/16" thick. The smallest link measures slightly more than 1/4" tall, a little less than 3/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the opal stones are secure and intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition. The box remains in excellent antique condition with only minimal surface wear commensurate with age.
