Arts & Crafts Sterling Carved Lapis Lazuli + Rose Cut Diamond Ring
An unusual and lovely lapis lazuli ring from the Arts and Crafts (ca1910s) era! This striking piece is crafted in sterling silver and features a hand carved lapis plaque prong set in its center. The deeply carved design is quite intricate, displaying a lovely floral motif, and the rich blue stone exhibits a natural navy blue color flecked with fine gold specs throughout. The stone is rectangular in shape and particularly large in size and rests atop a wirework mounting accented by ten old Rose Cut diamonds set within a floral motif on either shoulder. The design is completed with an simple sterling band which tapers slightly towards the back. This fabulous ring would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The carved lapis stone measures approximately 3/4" tall and a little less than 1/2" wide. When worn, the ring rests 3/8" atop the finger. The ring has a finger size 7, but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling mounting or to the diamonds or lapis stone, which are all intact and securely set.
