BAILEY BANKS & BIDDLE Art Deco Platinum French Cut Sapphire + Diamond Circle Pendant Necklace 18.5"
A stunning gemstone pendant necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920) era by renowned maker Bailey, Banks & Biddle! This breathtaking platinum pendant forms the shape of an open circle, and is adorned with a fabulous pattern of diamonds and vibrant natural blue sapphires across the entire front surface. The gemstones form two rows, and rest in a pattern with sections of French Cut sapphires that alternate with a combination of old Mine Cut and Single Cut diamonds. The gorgeous calibrated sapphires weigh approximately 1.50ctw combined, and their French Cut facets reflect the light beautifully, showcasing their incredible rich blue hues. The bead set diamonds have an overall approximate weight of 0.75ctw, with each stone providing a radiant sparkling array with every turn. Finishing the pendant is fine milgrain detail throughout, delicate cutouts that line the entire edge, and stamped on the back is a "PLAT" purity mark, and the signature "BB&B" hallmark. A hidden bail allows the piece to hang from a modern 14kt white gold twisted rope chain that fastens with a simple spring ring clasp stamped with a "585" gold purity mark. A truly outstanding piece, it would look incredible worn everyday or on special occasions, and would make a magnificent addition to any collection!
