A beautiful and very unique Retro watch pendant and chain from the 1940s era! This  wonderful necklace is comprised of an alluring ball clock pendant which hangs from a complementary silver chain. The watch features a double-sided spherical-shaped face of carved rock crystal held within a silver setting, giving the piece a unique ball-shaped design. A round watch face can be seen through the front, which has a pearly background, simple silver bar indices, and slender arrow hour and minute hands. The watch reads "BUCHERER" below the Bucherer logo and "SWISS MADE" underneath the 6th index. The reverse side of the watch pendant reveals the exposed movement, which is visible through the rock crystal. The rounded shape of the crystal has a magnifying effect, showing the cogs and gears in closer detail. The movement reads "BUCHERER", "2 ADJUSTMENTS" and "FIFTEEN 15 JEWELS". The watch is wound by a simple fluted crown on the bottom of the pendant, and the rhodium-plated case displays a simple bail at the top. The pendant attaches by a decorated watch clip on a feminine bar link continental silver chain necklace marked "800 CB" next to its spring ring clasp. This watch has a very special look and the necklace would be a lovely addition to any timepiece collection!

Measurements: The watch pendant hangs approximately 1 1/8" long including the crown. It is about 7/8" wide and 3/4" deep. The chain measures approximately 29" long and is 1mm thick.

Condition: The watch pendant and chain are in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the rock crystal faces or to the encasement. The crown winds and turns with ease. The chain is in excellent condition, and both its spring ring clasp and watch swivel are secure. Watches of this era should be cleaned and oiled periodically as part of proper maintenance, and at the current time, the timepiece is keeping good time.
