CARTIER Art Deco Platinum Multi-Gemstone "Lucky 13" Charm/Pendant
A wonderful multi-gemstone lucky number charm pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! By Cartier London, this fabulous piece is crafted in platinum and forms the shape of the number "13". The number is shown in a dramatic box font and the surface is lined with an incredibly vibrant array of gemstones, including two Single Cut diamonds, two rubies, four emeralds, two sapphires, two citrines, and two amethysts. The stones are all open backed and besides the diamonds, which are prong set, the gemstones are channel set framed on either side by a platinum border. The delicate charm hangs from a complementary platinum bail, ready to be attached to a favorite chain, and the side is marked "Cartier London". It's a wonderful piece by a legendary maker and would make a perfect "lucky 13" charm!
Measurements: The charm pendant hangs approximately 5/8" long, including the bail at the top. The number "13" itself measures 3/8" tall, 5/16" wide, and is 1mm thick.
Condition: The charm/pendant remains in good overall vintage condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the platinum setting and the bail is secure and in good condition. The stones show signs of abrasion, commensurate with age and previous wear, however, due to size and design, it is not noticeable when worn.
