Edwardian 14kt & Sterling Sapphire & Diamond Cross Pendant
A very lovely cross pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This wonderful piece is made of 14kt yellow gold topped in sterling silver and has a bold and striking design. The body of the cross is comprised of 4 rows of French cut sapphires, with a larger sapphire stone resting in the middle where the rows intersect. Ornate triangular points rest at the end of each arm and are detailed with 16 old Rose Cut diamonds. Fine milgraining can be found through the pendant, adding texture to the wonderful design and the sapphires have a beautiful deep blue color that looks wonderful against the silver setting. A simple sterling bail rests at the top, making it easy to attach to a simple sterling chain. A very special piece, this lovely pendant would make a wonderful addition to any Edwardian jewelry collection!
Measurement: The cross hangs approximately 1 5/8" long, is slightly less than 1" at its widest, and has a depth of approximately 1/16".
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold setting and the bail is secure and in good working condition. There is no apparent damage to any of the sapphires or diamonds, which are all intact.
