Edwardian 14kt & Platinum Sapphire Diamond Pendant
A lovely sapphire and diamond pendant from the Edwardian (ca1880) period! This beautiful piece is made of platinum and 14kt gold and adorns a vibrant sapphire and a sparkling diamond. The striking blue stone stone has a round, cabochon cut and is bezel set in 14kt yellow gold with an open back. The sapphire attaches to an old Mine Cut diamond which has a total approximate weight of 0.15ct and is bezel set in platinum. The sapphire which is approximately .80ctw has a wonderful, rich blue color and the combination of the mixed metals paired with the diamond is absolutely striking. A simple bail is hidden behind the diamond topper, allowing you to hang the simple piece from a white or yellow gold chain. This wonderful pendant could be worn as an everyday piece or would be perfect for a dressy occasion! It would make a lovely addition to any collection.
Measurements: The pendant hangs a little less than 1/2" long, is 1/4" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the mixed metal setting or to the diamond or sapphire, both of which are intact.
