A gorgeous horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 15kt gold (indicating English origin), the necklace consists of a horseshoe pendant that hangs from a fine gold chain. The horseshoe has a lovely semi-matte surface and features alternating ruby and diamond design. Each gemstone represents one of the 7 "nails" (always 7 for good luck!) on the face of the horseshoe, and the color combination of luscious red and sparkling white is absolutely beautiful. A cutout pattern decorates the side of the horseshoe, complete with dotted gold circles along the edge. The gold chain is attached to each end of the horseshoe, and fastens with a spring ring clasp in the back. A very fashionable and attractive piece, it blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and would make a perfect everyday accessory. Both beautiful and versatile, it is perfect for the equestrian enthusiast or antique jeweler collector!
Measurements: The necklace measures 16" in total length. The horseshoe pendant itself is 1" tall, 7/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The chain and clasp are secure and in excellent working condition. All of the rubies and diamonds are intact and securely set.
