Retro 10kt Penn State Synthetic Sapphire Class Ring
A wonderful commemorative class ring from the Early Retro (ca1938) era! This striking men's ring from Penn State University is made of 10kt yellow gold and has a large, decorative design. Resting in the center is a large bezel set synthetic sapphire, which is beautifully faceted and displays a rich, deep blue color. Surrounding the center stone are the words "PENNSYLVANIA STATE COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY." The wide band of the ring displays a raised a raised design on each shoulder, including outstretched wings above a shield-shaped crest with leaves at either side. The combination of the yellow gold setting paired with the vibrant blue stone creates quite an eye-catching look! Stamped on the inside of the ring is "S", "MAPTIN" and "10K". The initials "WE" are also engraved inside the shank. A wonderful keepsake piece, this vintage class ring is perfect for a Penn State alumnus and would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size 8.5, though it could be resized slightly. The face of the ring measures approximately 3/4" tall and 7/8" wide. The synthetic sapphire in the center is 12mm tall and 10mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or synthetic sapphire, which is secure and intact.
