A gorgeous pair of diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1850s) era! Crafted in 18k gold and topped in sterling silver, each earring displays a wagon wheel of old mine cut diamonds within prong settings. The silver's natural patina looks lovely against the yellow gold setting and the diamonds' bright sparkle. Collectively, the 26 old mine cut diamonds have an overall carat weight of approximately 0.80ctw. The diamond surmounts are decorated with a star shaped repoussé motif, adding a nice little decorative element. The earrings are completed and secured by gold posts each marked with two French eagle heads with secure backings. This pair of earrings would make for a beautiful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang just under 1" in length, including the wire. The design measures approximately 1/2" in diameter.
Condition: The earrings are in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and gold setting. The diamonds are both intact and securely set. The earring wires and hinges are secure and in good working condition.
