Edwardian 14kt/18kt Natural Ruby + Diamond Ring 0.85ct center
A magnificent ruby and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold topped with 14kt white gold, this wonderful piece boasts a stunning multi-gem centerpiece. Resting at the center is a natural, no-heat ruby, which is bezel set and beautifully faceted. The gorgeous oval-shaped stone weighs approximately 0.85ct and displays a vivid magenta red color, catching the light perfectly within its open back setting. Surrounding the ruby is a scalloped border of Rose Cut diamonds that radiate with every turn, complimenting the center stone perfectly. Collectively, the bezel-set diamonds weigh 0.10ctw and display G-H color range and VS1-SI2 range clarity. Fine milgrain details are found throughout the centerpiece and a lovely wirework design decorates the girdle. Completing the beautiful mixed metals design is a smoothly polished yellow gold band. Stamped inside the shank is "18K" and "585." The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Graduate Gemologist in October 2018, and has a stated retail replacement value of $2,500.00. A positively breathtaking piece, it would make a perfect addition to any collection or could make a stunning alternative gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7.75, but could be resized if desired. The centerpiece measures approximately 3/8" tall and just over a 1/4" wide and rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The band measures 2mm wide in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the mixed metals gold setting. The ruby and diamonds are all intact and securely set.
