A gorgeous opal and multi-gemstone pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted in 14kt gold, this lavalier-style pendant features a colorful and feminine design. Two bar links hang from the centerpiece, which holds a fiery opal in a milgrained bezel setting. The opal is mesmerizing, exhibiting iridescent hues of green, blue, orange, and violet, all of which flash and shimmer in the light. The dangling bars are slightly different lengths, giving the pendant an attractive asymmetrical look. Resting at the bottom of the longest bar is a sapphire, while the other link holds a ruby, each resting in a 6-prong setting. Both gemstones are beautifully faceted for a light-catching sparkle, and display rich natural colors. Delicate rose cut diamonds are set above each gemstone, a lovely accent! The pendant is attached to a fluted bail, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. A real beauty, this feminine piece would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/4" long (including the bail), measures about 5/16" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The diamonds, sapphire, ruby, and opal are all intact and securely set.
