Edwardian 18kt/Sterling Diamond Sliver Crescent Pendant Necklace 0.75ctw
A stunning diamond crescent pendant necklace from the Victorian era (ca1880)! The gorgeous piece is comprised of a sparkling sliver crescent pendant crafted in 18kt yellow gold topped with sterling silver which hangs from a 14kt white gold chain. Adorning the surface of the crescent is a graduating row of old Mine and Rose Cut diamonds, which collectively have a total approximate weight of 0.75ctw. The micro-prong set stones rest in a blackened silver background, allowing their brightness to come alive, catching the light beautifully with every turn. Gracing one side of the pendant is a gorgeous scalloped wirework design in yellow gold, and hand engraved on the other side is the phrase, "TO THE CHAIRMAN FROM THE BOYS" in a bold script. The pendant hangs from a modern chain in an east to west rather than vertical variation, which is both unique and stylish, and fastens with a spring ring clasp stamped "14K." A magnificent statement piece for any celestial enthusiast, it would make a positively radiant addition to any antique or modern collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 17.5" long. The pendant itself measures approximately 1 3/4" wide, 1/8" tall and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold and sterling setting or to the white gold chain. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
