Edwardian French Silver Fancy Link Guard Chain 56"

SKU: 43869

$595

A lovely French guard chain from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! Crafted in silver, this wonderful piece is comprised of sections of ornate chain which alternate with elegant links adorned with a soft texture. The links come together to form a long, flowing chain which secures at a spring ring clasp displaying a French boar's head hallmark, indicating minimum .800 silver content, common of French silver at the turn of the century. The generous length of the chain allows it to slip easily on and off overhead, and it can be comfortably doubled or even tripled for a stylish layered look. This versatile and beautifully made piece would make a wonderful addition to any antique collection!

Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures approximately 56" long. The fancy links measure about 3/8" long each while the chain sections measure nearly 5/16".

Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver links. The spring-ring clasp displays some wear but this does not compromise the integrity of the piece. It fastens securely and is in good working condition.
