Edwardian .900 Silver & Gold-Filled Chain Necklace
A lovely mixed metals watch chain from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted of silver (.900 purity) twisted ellipse shaped links, the chain necklace is particularly long and has beautiful mixed metals design. Each silver link has delicately engraved lines and an "x" designs, inspiring a nautical rope-like motif. The links connect together by short sections of chain and interspersed throughout the piece are beautiful gold-filled links, creating an attractive accent of color and mixed metals design. In the middle of the chain is a watch swivel clasp, which makes it possible to double the chain or to attach a complimentary pendant or locket. Stamped along the clasp and at the two links on each side are several hallmarks, possibly Austrian, however, we are unable to decipher; please refer to images. It's a beautifully made piece and would look lovely worn alone or paired with a complimentary pendant or locket!
Measurements: The chain necklace measures 55.5" long. Each ellipse shaped link is approximately 1/8" wide and 5/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the silver or gold links and the clasp is intact and in good working condition.
