Edwardian Large Platinum Sapphire + Diamond Filigree Ring 1.40 center
A stunning diamond and sapphire ring from the Edwardian (ca1915) era! This wonderful platinum piece has an elegant filigree setting with an elongated centerpiece that beautifully curves around the finger. Resting at the center is a stunning octagonal shaped sapphire weighing approximately 1.40ct, exhibiting a gorgeous deep blue hue. The bezel set stone rests at the middle of an ornate filigree design that is adorned with various sized old Mine Cut diamonds symmetrically placed throughout. The diamonds weigh approximately 1.00ctw combined, sparkling brilliantly in the light with every turn. Finishing the design are delicate cutouts and fine milgrain work, which both add a lovely feminine touch. An additional old Mine Cut diamond rests on either shoulder, surrounded by a complimentary filigree design, and a lovely etched pattern wraps around the edge of the entire centerpiece, trailing onto the band. The band is smoothly polished at the back, and stamped inside of the shank is a "PLAT" purity mark. It's a gorgeous statement piece that would look beautiful worn on special occasions, or could make a unique engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7.5 but it could easily be re-sized. The centerpiece measures approximately 7/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests 1/2" above the finger when worn. The band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and all of the diamonds and sapphires are intact and securely set.
