Edwardian Platinum/18kt Reverse Carved Rock Crystal + Diamond Cufflinks
A beautiful pair of rock quartz crystal and diamond cufflinks from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! These double-sided cufflinks are crafted in platinum and feature a sparkling diamond at the center of a rock quartz crystal plaque. Each plaque features a carved starburst motif on the back, which shows through to the front as a pattern of rays fanning out from the middle. Resting at the center of the design is a sparkling old Mine Cut diamond set within a lovely milgrained bezel, catching the light beautifully with every turn. A delicate border with a fine engine-turned pattern surrounds each plaque, and connecting the cufflinks together at the back is a simple yellow gold loop, stamped "18K." The split in the gold loops gives the cufflink faces the ability to be easily slipped off, and later reattached. A stunning pair of Edwardian cufflinks, they would look equally nice worn by a woman or man!
Measurements: Each round cufflink face measures approximately 1/2" in diameter and is 1/8" thick. The space in between each cufflink (where the gold connector loops are attached) measures about 3/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting. The rock quartz crystal plaques are free of chips or scratches, and the diamonds are intact and securely set. The gold connector links in the back are securely attached.
