Edwardian Platinum Diamond 6-Point Star Stud Earrings 0.50ctw
A stunning pair of diamond star studs from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Each earring is crafted in platinum and displays a sparkling diamond encrusted design across the front surface. The 6-point stars have slightly curved tips, and each is lined with gorgeous old Rose Cut diamonds that trail into a larger diamond at the center. The central old Mine Cut diamond rests within a milgrained bezel setting and additional Rose Cut diamonds rest in the space between each star point, almost appearing as if they "float." Collectively, the diamonds between both earrings weigh approximately 0.50ctw combined, creating a fabulous dazzling array that frames the face beautifully. Fine milgrain details decorate the entire piece, and the back side reveals a modern white gold post and earring back, stamped with a "585S" gold purity mark. Beautiful and feminine, they would make a lovely everyday accessory and would add a wonderful sparkle to any ensemble!
Measurements: Each earring measures approximately 1/2" in diameter and is about 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The posts and earring backs are secure and in good working condition. Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
