Edwardian Platinum Diamond Engagement Ring 0.73ct
A fantastic diamond engagement ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This beautiful piece has an old European Cut diamond at the center of a stunning ornate wirework platinum mounting. The diamond is prong set within an octagonal box setting and has an approximate weight of 0.73ct. The stone has H color and VS2 clarity. Also set within the stunning mounting are an additional 8 Single Cut diamonds which cover the sides and shoulders of the ring. The mounting is simply wonderful with fine filigree wirework, cutouts and a beautiful flowing design that carries down the shoulders of the band. The shank has several marks: "PLATINUM", "JW", "25112" and what appears to be a leaf stamp. The ring appraised in February 2014 by a GIA certified GG for a retail replacement value of $7400. It would make an absolutely stunning engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6 but could easily be re-sized. When worn, the ring sits about 1/4" atop your finger.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and all of the stones are intact.
