Edwardian Platinum Diamond Pearl Chain + Rock Crystal Pendant Necklace
A stunning and unusual pendant necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted in platinum, this fabulous piece is comprised of a natural pearl and diamond link chain which adorns a relatively large rock crystal pendant at the center. The oval-shaped pendant is open on either side, and capped with a stunning diamond lined "petal" motif on the top and bottom. A delicate natural pearl dangles from the base of the pendant, and each side is lined with a beautiful sparkling diamond border. Adorning the top of the pendant are two natural pearls that alternate with diamond lined beads, perfectly finishing the elegant design. The ornate chain is comprised of an alternating pattern of natural pearls and diamonds, each separated by sections of delicate chain. The sparkling stones are bezel set within a smooth eyeglass setting, catching the light beautifully with every turn. The natural pearls display a lovely, creamy white color and a high luster surface, perfectly complimenting the platinum setting. The necklace fastens securely at the back with a spring ring clasp, however, thanks to its length, it can easily slip on and off overhead. Beautiful and feminine, it would make an incredible statement piece to wear for a special occasion!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 29.5" in length. The pendant hangs slightly more than 2" long, measures about 1/2" wide and slightly more than 1/4" thick. The pearl and diamond links vary slightly in size, measuring about 2mm each on average.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum chain. All of the diamonds and pearls are intact and securely set. The rock crystal is secure and intact, displaying the slightest amount of surface scratches that are only visible under close examination. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
