Estate 14kt Glass "Evil Eye" Double-Sided Filigree Charm Pendant
Belief in the evil eye dates back to classical antiquity and beliefs have always varied across different regions and periods. Today, many cultures and individuals wear, own, or carry talismans to ward off the curse of the evil eye. The symbol was sometimes incorporated into jewelry, allowing the wearer to always be protected.
A wonderful Estate charm pendant depicting the classic evil eye symbol! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this two-sided piece is almond-shaped and features a matching design on either side. A twisted filigree wirework design covers the entire surface, beautifully displaying a blue-colored glass "eyeball" inside. A cutout opening at the center of the charm reveals a white iris and black pupil, completing the mysterious evil eye design. The piece hangs from a fluted bail (stamped "BESAY 585") and would look perfect hung from a favorite chain or charm bracelet!
Measurements: The charm/pendant hangs about 5/8" long (including the bail at the top). The evil eye itself measures approximately 3/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and is about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold filigree setting. The glass eyeball is intact and securely set. The bail has some wear at the base, but remains secure and in good working condition.
