Renowned Danish silversmith Georg Jensen was born in 1866. His training in metalsmithing and his education in the Fine Arts enabled him to develop a successful career based in beautiful jewelry and silver design. His signature Art Nouveau style grew increasingly popular and Jensen became a world renowned artist. Although Jensen died in 1935, his pieces are still being created today using the same craftsmanship as when he was alive.
This sterling silver ring is a fabulous example of Georg Jensen's impeccable craft. Approximately from the late 1930's era, this wonderful piece is crafted of sterling silver and features a floral-like motif. On the underside of the ring is the signature "GEORG JENSEN" hallmark which was used from 1933-1944 "STERLING", "DENMARK", and the number "51". This fabulous piece would make a great addition to any Jensen collection!
Measurements: The oval shaped hematite measures approximately 5/8" wide, 3/4" tall and has a depth of 3/8". The ring has a finger size of a generous size 6 but it could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver.
