Georgian 18kt + Amethyst Cannetile Wirework Dangle Earrings
A gorgeous pair of earrings from the Georgian (ca1850s) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, the earrings begin with an oval-shaped light purple amethyst stone, set in a closed-back East-to-West style. Feminine cannetille wirework and small gold beads with a finely stippled texture decorate the surmount, topped with a gentle Fleur-de-lis design and securing to the ear by simple earring wires. An elaborate teardrop-shaped link hangs below and adorns matching wirework and textured accents along with five soft purple amethyst stones. The amethysts are surrounded by delicate golden flowers and beadwork, beautifully complementing their color. This magnificent set is truly exceptional and it would be a fabulous addition to any Georgian collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/2" in length, including the earring wire. They measure 3/4" at their widest point.
Condition: The earrings are overall in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the amethyst stones are intact and securely set.
