LALIQUE French Art Deco Crystal Woman Tassel Necklace
An incredible Lalique crystal necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This stunning piece features a round crystal plaque, which is worn as a pendant on a green cord necklace. The crystal has the traditional Lalique frosted accents and carries the gorgeous raised design of a woman who is kneeling within a garden of flowers, with a single bouquet clasped in her outstretched hand. Two holes at the top of the pendant are threaded with the original green silk cord that forms the necklace, which is braided and accented with 8 crystal beads. At the back of the braided necklace are two knots that make the length adjustable, and a long tassel hangs in the back. Dangling below the crystal pendant are several gathered green silk strands that comprise a second long tassel at the bottom. The side of the pendant is signed "R. LALIQUE", "FIORET" and "PARIS". It's a marvelous and artistic Lalique crystal piece that would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The Lalique crystal pendant has a diameter of 1 3/8" and is 3/16" thick. The tassel hangs 6" long below. The necklace measures approximately 25" long, and the tassel in the back hangs approximately 4" long. Each crystal bead measures 10mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. There are a few minor chips to the crystal plaque, but they are small and not noticeable when worn. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the crystal beads, or silk cord.
