Late Art Deco 18kt Faceted Onyx + Diamond 3-Hoop Earrings
A fabulous pair of triple hoop onyx earrings from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold topped with white gold, each earring consists of three front-facing graduated onyx rings which hang from a sparkling diamond topper. All three hoops dangle freely, allowing their striking facets to catch the light beautifully with every turn. A lightly etched loop secures the hoops to the surmount which features two sparkling old European Cut diamonds resting in a milgrained bezel setting. Finishing the gorgeous design is a domed topper embellished with a engine turned design along the surface, and a simple post and earring back, stamped "750" rest at the back. The rich black onyx paired with the white gold and diamonds create a dramatic, eye-catching appeal, and despite their substantial size, the earrings are wonderfully lightweight and comfortable to wear. The earrings dangle with lovely movement and frame the face beautifully, creating a perfect look day or night!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" long, and measures 1 1/4" wide, and is 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow and white gold setting. The diamonds are intact and securely set and the carved onyx is free of any noticeable chips or scratches. The post and earring backs are secure and in good working order.
