Late Art Deco English Sterling Turquoise Cabochon Ring
A wonderful turquoise ring from the late Art Deco (ca1934) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this gorgeous piece adorns a relatively large oval-shaped turquoise stone which is set atop a contoured bezel frame. The turquoise centerpiece features fantastic coloring, exhibiting marbled hues of bright turquoise green, soft sage and subtle reddish brown. Completing the design are pillar-style split shoulders, which extend to a simple and smooth band in the back. Multiple hallmarks and markings can be found stamped on the underside of the centerpiece, including the maker's mark "JBM," beside London hallmarks of a lion and lion head, along with the date letter "t," which dates the piece to 1934. The patent number "PAT. NO 410245" and the number "RB 784538" are also stamped inside. A stunning piece that would make a perfect colorful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.75, but could easily be resized. The centerpiece measures approximately 7/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests about 3/8" above the finger when worn. The band measures 1.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or to the turquoise cabochon face.
