Late Victorian .800 Silver Micro Mosaic Floral Link Necklace

SKU: 44341

A beautiful example of micro mosaic art from the late Victorian (ca1900s) era! Crafted in .800 silver, this wonderful piece features a colorful micro mosaic design set within a dramatic, multi-link necklace. Ten round plaques line the collar, each adorned with an image of varying daisy flowers of pink and yellow hues, accented by gentle green leaves, and a beautiful teal-colored background. Nine festoon-style links hang below, each displaying a collection of Forget-Me-Not flowers in various shades of blues and whites. All of the micro mosaics are adorned with a beadwork pattern along their edges, and connect to one another by trefoil-shaped links. The necklace design is completed by a fine chain which fastens at a spring ring clasp at the back. The central mosaic reads "TZ 800" on the back, indicating its maker and craft in .800 silver. This lovely necklace is a work of detailed art, and would make a beautiful gift!

Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16" long. The festoon-style links hang approximately 7/8" to 1 1/4" in length from the center of the trefoil links to the bottom.

Condition: The necklace is in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. There are two tiles missing from the rightmost daisy mosaic and a single tile missing from the second rightmost daisy, but none are visible without a loupe nor do they negatively impact the beauty or integrity of the piece.
