Late Victorian Gilded Silver Turquoise + Coral Elephant Charm Pendant
An absolutely lovely elephant charm pendant from the late Victorian (ca1800s) era! This wonderful piece is crafted of gilded silver and portrays the petite shape of a majestic elephant, whose body is encrusted with vibrant turquoise and coral stones. The elephant has wonderful character, including a sweeping tail, an extended, curved trunk, two tusks and stocky legs. The turquoise range slightly in size and color, exhibiting bright blue and green hues, and a single red coral stone represents each eye. A gold loop for hanging at the top completes the design, ready to be worn as a small pendant on a chain, or hung from a favorite charm bracelet. It would make a fun addition to any collection!
Measurements: The elephant charm hangs approximately 3/4" long (including the ring for hanging), and measures just under 7/8" wide and 3/8" in depth.
Condition: The charm remains in overall great antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gilded silver setting or to any of the coral or turquoise stones, all of which are intact. The ring for hanging is secure and in good condition.
