A lovely pair of earrings from the Late Victorian (ca1900s) era! Crafted in patinaed sterling silver, the earrings begin with a trefoil-shaped surmount set with three marcasite stones. A bar of marcasite stones (stamped "925") dangles below carrying a white opal cabochon. The opal exhibits a gorgeous rainbow, lit from within, and is it held by a four-pronged frame. A simple post and friction backing secure the pair to the ear. Perfect for an opal lover, this pair would be a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 1/4" long and are 11/32" wide.
Condition: The earrings are in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The sterling silver has a natural patina, typical of pieces from the Victorian era. The marcasite stones and opal cabochons are all intact and securely set. The posts and friction backs are secure and in good working condition.
