A fantastic and unusual gooseneck chain necklace from the Retro (ca1940) era! This stunning piece has a strong Retro look and is comprised of a graduating 14kt yellow gold flexible gooseneck chain and a solid gold pendant piece, accented with diamonds and rubies. The chain is particularly wide, has a lovely weight to it, and rests beautifully around the collar neckline. This unusual design clasps at the front where the stone-accented pendant piece resides; the chain inserts into the back of the pendant and is held in place by a hidden safety latch from underneath. The chain has multiple holes drilled into its backside, similar to a belt, so the necklace can be adjusted accordingly from 14 1/4" up to 17" in length. The pendant piece features ten bead set rubies in star settings, with four white gold bezel set diamonds between the two rows of rubies. The single cut diamonds are estimated to weigh a combined 0.40ctw, and the rubies are estimated at a combined weight of 0.50ctw. A truly incredible collar-style necklace, this retro-era piece is a great addition to any gold-lover's collection!
