Retro 18kt Yellow Gold Architectural "Duomo" Charm Pendant
A gorgeous and unique charm pendant from the Retro (ca1940s) era! This wonderful piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and features a fabulous 3-dimensional Gothic design. The shape is highly architectural, resembling the multi-sided top of a building or tower, most likely a depiction of the famous "Duomo" domed cathedral in Florence, Italy. A fine textured surface covers the dome, each side separated by a smoothly polished edge, creating a wonderful visual effect. Delicate round cutouts form a row near the base, resembling lovely "see through" windows, mimicking the appearance of the real structure. The base is smoothly polished and a decorative turret at the top trails into a gold bail (stamped with a "750" gold purity mark near a maker's mark) attached to a split ring, perfect for hanging the piece from a favorite chain. The vibrant gold setting coupled with the carved details is incredibly unique and gorgeous. A stunning architectural piece, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurement: The charm pendant hangs approximately 1 3/8" long (including the bail at the top) and measures a little more than 1/2" in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or etched details. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
