Retro Gold-Filled Faux Tortoise Shell Urn Earrings
A fabulous pair of faux tortoise shell earrings from the Retro (ca1940) era! These striking earrings are crafted from Lucite and display a rich, dark caramel hue that appears very similar to real tortoise shell, now a banned material. Each earring forms the shape of a large 3-dimensional urn with Grecian shaped handles at either side. The urns dangle below a round bead topper which is attached to a gold-filled earring wire at the top. The Lucite displays an exceptionally deep colored, rich brown hue with hints of burnt orange that can bee seen when caught in the light. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear, these fantastic earrings dangle with lovely movement and frame the face beautifully. Whether worn day or night, these fabulous Retro earrings would make a brilliant addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 3" long (including the wire at the top), and measures about 5/8" wide, and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled wire or Lucite material. The earring wires are intact and in good working condition. There is a small amount of what could be clear glue or some other similar material on the side of one of the urns; however, because of its location, it is not visible when the earrings are worn.
