Beautiful sterling and moonstone earrings from the Retro (1940s) era! These lovely earrings are crafted in sterling silver and depict a gorgeous floral design which is accented with moonstone cabochons. Each flower-like link has a single round moonstone in the center which is surrounded by 6 oval-shaped moonstone "petals." The prong set stones are all very clear and have a beautiful pale blue color with vibrant blue flashes that can be seen with the lovely movement of the earrings. Each hangs from sterling silver wires that attach to a simple moonstone surmount, perfectly completing the design. These unusual and beautiful earrings have an enchanting look that would make any collection complete!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, is a little less than 7/8" wide at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling setting or wires, and all of the moonstones are intact. Prior to us owning them, it appears that one of the moonstones was repaired by being glued into its setting. In turn, a small amount of glue remnants is visible if examined very closely. This is not noticeable when the earrings are worn nor does it detract from the beauty of the earrings. Additionally, there is a small chip in the corner of one of the moonstones, underneath the prong, which is not noticeable unless examined closely.
