SLOAN & Co. Art Nouveau 14kt Filigree Wirework Bangle Bracelet
This absolutely lovely bracelet from the Art Nouveau (ca1910) era is a signed piece by Sloan & Co.! Crafted in vibrant 14kt yellow gold, this fabulous bangle adorns a lovely floral and scrolled motif which carries around the entire surface. The beautiful flowing die struck design rests along an open setting, creating an attractive cutout appearance in between each curl and fold. The wirework motif is backed with a gold band, leaving the center hollow and allowing the bracelet to have a very lightweight feel. The bracelet is stamped "14" along the inside, next to the authentic Sloan & Co. maker's hallmark. Additionally, the hand inscribed name "Emma" and year "1910" can be found on the opposite side. A spectacular piece, it would look stunning worn by itself or stacked with other similar bracelets and would rest comfortably on an average sized wrist. Both versatile and artistic, it would make any collection complete!
Measurements: The opening of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/2" wide and 2 1/48" tall. The surface measures a little more than 3/16" wide. The bracelet has a weight of 9.1 grams.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There is one spot along the ornate wirework surface with a very minor indentation, however, due to the design, it is not noticeable when worn nor does it detract from the overall beauty of the bracelet. Otherwise, besides normal surface wear, there is not additional damage to the gold setting.
