UNTERMEYER-ROBBINS Late Art Deco 14kt Moonstone + Sapphire Cluster Ring
This beautiful moonstone and sapphire cluster ring from the Retro (ca1940) era is a signed piece by Untermeyer-Robbins, a New York City jewelry firm established in 1902! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this piece adorns a stunning moonstone cabochon at the center of an incredible sapphire border. The gorgeous moonstone rests in a multi-prong setting, and exhibits a pale blue color with a strong iridescent flash. Ten faceted blue sapphires grace the top and bottom of the center stone, each one catching the light beautifully with every turn. Adorning the shoulders is a French Cut sapphire stone that is held in a gorgeous milgrained box setting, perfectly complimenting their lovely cornflower blue hue. A smoothly polished band graduates slightly towards the back and stamped inside of the shank is the "UR" signature hallmark beside a "14K" gold purity mark. A lovely and eye-catching Art Deco piece, this beautiful ring would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.5, but could be re-sized. The centerpiece measures about 1/2" tall, and slightly more than 1/2" wide, and rests a little more than 1/4" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 1mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold setting. The moonstone cabochon and sapphires are all intact and securely set.
